NFL Week 5: Fox, Dish end carriage dispute in time for kickoff

After a 10-day service stalemate prevented thousands of subscribers from watching "Thursday Night Football," the dispute between Fox and DISH Network has officially come to a close ahead of Sunday's NFL tipoff. Since late September, millions of Dish Network and Sling subscribers didn't have access to local Fox channels after the satellite and streaming services failed to reach an agreement with Fox Corp. The dispute came as the NFL season was entering its third week and the MLB playoffs were getting underway

Early Sunday, the opposing parties announced that a "multi-year carriage agreement" was reached and service has been restored.

“We are pleased to announce that we have reached an agreement with Dish and Sling, and they are immediately restoring their subscribers’ access to the Fox networks and television stations,” Fox said in a statement.

Dish added, "We appreciate our customers' patience as we worked to reach a long-term agreement that restores the Fox networks and local broadcast stations."
