FCS playoffs: No. 2 James Madison leads UNI, 10-0, at halftime. | National

HARRISONBURG, Va. – Second-seeded James Madison has held Northern Iowa to 30 total yards as the Dukes lead the Panthers, 10-0, at halftime in a FCS quarterfinal Friday at Bridgeforth Stadium.

The Dukes got a 15-yard touchdown pass from Ben DiNucci to Brandon Polk with 4:10 left in the first quarter and Ethan Ratke hit connected on a 42-yard field goal with 6:39 to go to halftime for JMU’s points.

JMU has dominated time of possession as it has run 49 plays to UNI’s 21 and has out-gained the Panthers, 207 to 30, with the Dukes having held onto the ball for 20 minutes and 27 seconds of the first half.

UNI nearly had an early big break when it was ruled on the field that the Dukes had fumbled on its first play and the Panthers recovered. However, on review, the call was overturned.

The Panthers will receive the ball to open the third quarter. UNI has been held to 1-yard rushing on 10 attempts and Will McElvain is 5 of 11 for 30 yards passing.
