Three teenagers were seriously injured in a shooting Friday night outside a private party at a North Buffalo community center after a fight erupted in gunfire.

An altercation in the parking lot of Robert M. Ryan North Buffalo Community Center at 203 Sanders Road led to the shootings at about 9:30 p.m., said Buffalo Police Capt. Jeff Rinaldo.

Two 17-year-olds and an 18-year-old were shot and were taken to Erie County Medical Center, Rinaldo said.

"The three individuals fled the scene. They were found by police and first responders in the backyard of a house and were transported to ECMC with serious injuries," Rinaldo said.

Two were in surgery on Friday night, he said. VIDEO: Three teenagers shot earlier tonight. Conditions unknown at this time.

Two of the victims were struck multiple times.

There was a private party going on Friday night in the community center, Rinaldo said.

"It's still very early on in our investigation," Rinaldo told reporters late Friday.

About 50 to 60 people had been attending the party, according to Rinaldo.

"We don't have a description right now other than we know that a dark colored, four-door sedan was seen fleeing the area," Rinaldo said.

Buffalo Police were canvassing the neighborhood and talking to neighbors, Rinaldo said. He asked anyone who had witnessed the shooting to call the police tipline at (716) 847-2255. Buffalo Police are on the scene of three people shot in the 200 block of Sanders Road.
