Tommylee Lewis was a key player in one of the most controversial no-calls in NFL history, but the Lions wide receiver chose to bite his tongue when the topic of the league's new instant replay review rules came up Tuesday. "Hey, it is what it is," Lewis said. Asked if he liked that all pass interference penalties, called and not called, will be subject to challenge going forward , Lewis said, "I guess. I don’t really – I don’t – whatever." Lewis was the intended receiver on Drew Brees' third-and-10 pass in the New Orleans Saints' NFC championship game loss to the Los Angeles Rams in January, when Rams cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman hit him well before the ball arrived along the sideline. Officials did not throw a flag on the play, and the Rams went on to win the game in overtime. Lewis acknowledged that it's "no doubt" good that missed pass-interference calls can now be corrected on replay, but he insisted he's "not even thinking about that play anymore" and he tugged at his Lions jersey, signifying he's on a new team now, when asked if the Saints would have won the Super Bowl if not for the no-call. Had a flag been thrown on the play, the Saints could have run most of the time off the clock before kicking what would have been the game-winning field goal. "I done answered so many questions about that play," Lewis said. "So I’m over it. I’m over that." Activated off the physically unable to perform list Tuesday, Lewis is getting a late start in the competition for the Lions' No. 4 and 5 receiver spots because of an ankle injury. Jermaine Kearse, Chris Lacy, Andy Jones, Brandon Powell and rookie Travis Fulgham are among the other receivers in camp vying for jobs. "You ain’t got time for catching up," Lewis said. "That’s why when you’re out you just got to stay up to par, keep up with the tempo and when it’s time for you get back on the field you’ve got to hit the ground rolling."
