June Mar Fajardo, Roger Pogoy and Troy Rosario are set to rejoin Gilas Pilipinas’ preparation for the FIBA World Cup after suiting up for their respective teams in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals.

Coach Yeng Guiao expects the three to report for duty in Monday’s practice at the Meralco Gym where they hope to get up to speed with the progress Gilas gained during their two-week absence.

The three were busy playing in the recent championship series that saw Fajardo and the San Miguel Beermen defeating Pogoy, Rosario and TNT KaTropa in six games.

Guiao believes Fajardo, Pogoy and Rosario will be able to re-acquaint themselves easily once they recover from the Finals fatigue.

“I’m sure they don’t have problems with fitness. Actually yung problema lang nila is magpahinga lang, or maka recover lang. Napagod sila sa Finals,” Guiao said after Gilas held a two-hour practice Saturday morning.

(I’m sure they don’t have problems with fitness. Actually their only problem is to be able to recover from the Finals.)

“But fitness-wise, once they recover, they’d be good to go,” he added.

Guiao added that their presence will allow him to gauge where Gilas is with two weeks before heading to Foshan, China for Group D matches against Italy, Serbia and Angola.

The Nationals recently played four tune-up games against Congo and Ivory Coast sans the three players.

“Kung tatanuningin niyo kung anong percent na, siguro mga nasa 70 to 75 (If you ask me, I think we’re about 70 to 75),” said Guiao.

“But when I see them play, when I see them catchup with what they missed the last two three weeks, and then maybe that’s a more accurate basis for saying what percentage we are in terms of readiness,” he added.
