A Northern Territory police officer has been charged with sex crimes.

The 52-year-old was served with a summons to appear in the Darwin Local Court on January 9, next year to face two allegations of sexual intercourse without consent.

That is in addition to two previous charges of sexual intercourse without consent the officer has already been charged with.
