NSW man accused of 54 DV-related offences

A NSW man will remain behind bars after being charged with more than 50 domestic violence-related offences including rape, kidnapping and choking involving four women.

Aron Michael Goodrem, 28, was charged at Gosford on Monday with 54 domestic violence-related offences including eight counts of rape, three counts of kidnapping, one count of depriving someone of their liberty and six counts of choking among other charges.

The alleged offences occurred in Sydney's west and the state's central west between 2009 - when Goodrem would have been 19 - and 2017.

Court documents show Goodrem is charged with kidnapping one victim between mid-2009 and late 2012 in Penrith.

In another instance, he's accused of detaining a woman between September 2012 and late March 2013 in Parkes.

Detectives have been investigating since June this year following reports four women had been sexually assaulted and held against their will over a period of time by a man known to them.

Goodrem did not apply for bail and it was formally refused at Central Local Court on Tuesday.

He is due to appear at the same court on January 22.
