A truck driver has been charged over a crash in Perth that killed a 55-year-old woman.

The victim was turning her car onto a highway in Forrestdale on Monday afternoon when it was struck by a prime mover towing a semi-trailer. She died at the scene.

A 46-year-old man was charged on Tuesday with dangerous driving causing death and will face Armadale Magistrates Court on May 14.
