California police identify 9-year-old girl found dead in duffel bag - CNN

(CNN) California police have identified the girl whose body was found inside a duffel bag near an equestrian trail last week.

She was 9-year-old Trinity Love Jones, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said. She was a Los Angeles County resident. Trinity Love Jones The Coroner's Office ruled her death a homicide, but the cause of death is being withheld, the sheriff's department said. Investigators detained two persons of interest in this case and continue to actively investigate. "Words can't explain what I'm feeling right now," he said. "I just want answers. I just want justice." The girl was found Tuesday morning in the area south of Hacienda Boulevard and Glenmark Drive, just below a Buddhist temple, according to police. Her head and upper body were protruding from the partially zipped roll-away black duffel bag. The girl's body was found in a roll-away black duffel bag, authorities said. Last week, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Lt. Scott Hoglund said authorities believed the girl was left the evening of March 3 in light brush by the trail. But it was not clear if she was dead or alive at the time.
