West Ham post Twitter message to Josh Cullen, some Charlton fans respond

The Hammers academy graduate has impressed with the Addicks , who will contest the League One playoffs.

West Ham United have sent a good luck message to their player Josh Cullen , who is currently on loan at Charlton Athletic, ahead of their playoff semi-final against Doncaster Rovers.

The 23-year-old has been impressive for the Addicks this season since joining back in August as they secured third place in League One ahead of Portsmouth and Sunderland.

Charlton finished the regular season strongly, winning their last three games in a row, scoring 10 goals in the process and conceding none.

Cullen has made 29 appearances for the Southeast Londoners in the league, all starts, and has played the full 90 minutes in the last 18 games in a row, according to Transfermarkt .

The stats website says the Hammers ace is only contracted to the Premier League club until this summer but in an interview with London News Online in April , he outlined his hopes of fighting for a first-team place at the London Stadium.

Nonetheless, West Ham 's Twitter message to Cullen prompted a strong reaction from a number of Charlton fans who pleaded with him to sign permanently at The Valley:
