PSL 2019: Hasan Ali shines as Peshawar Zalmi thrash Lahore Qalandars

Earlier in the first match of the day, Shane Watson blasted an unbeaten 81 to power Quetta Gladiators to a seven-wicket victory over Islamabad United at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.

Put into bat, Lahore Qalandars were bundled out for a paltry 78 thanks to Hasan Ali impressive bowling performance in the game. Hasan finished with four for 15 while he was ably supported by Wahab Riaz (3 for 17) and Ibtisam Sheikh (2 for 14).

In reply, Peshawar Zalmi also had a disastrous start when they were left reeling at 6 for 2 in the second over.

But Umar Amin had other ideas as he single-handedly anchored his side with an unbeaten 61 off 39 balls and took them over the line with seven wickets in hand and 59 balls to spare.

In the first match, Quetta Gladiators chased down a 158-run target.

Asked to bat first, Islamabad United were restricted to 157 for 8 thanks to Sohail Tanvir's four-wicket haul and Fawad Ahmed's three wickets.

Quetta Gladiators were jolted early when they lost Ahmed Shehzad early in the third over and then Rilee Rossouw in the fifth over.

Opener Shane Watson then joined forces with Umar Akmal (44) to add 62 runs for the third wicket to revive Quetta Gladiators.

Captain Sarfraz Ahmed then put on an unbroken 67-run partnership with Watson to take his side home.
