Predicted Arsenal XI v Standard Liege

Unai Emery’s Arsenal will face Standard Liege at the Emirates Stadium in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

Arsenal will be in action on Thursday evening when they take on Standard Liege at the Emirates Stadium in the Europa League.

The Gunners won their opening Group F game against Eintracht Frankfurt 3-0 in Germany last month.

The North London outfit will head into the match against Liege as favourites, and manager Unai Emery is likely to field a young team.

Emiliano Martinez will be between the posts for Arsenal, and in front of him, the Argentine will have Hector Bellerin, Shkodran Mustafi, Rob Holding and Kieran Tierney.

Bellerin and Tierney have recovered from their respective injuries, and the two full-backs will be a force to be reckoned with for the Gunners .

For Tierney, it will be the 22-year-old left-back’s only second competitive appearance for Arsenal following his move from Celtic in the summer transfer window, with the Scotland international having featured against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup.

Holding is a very good defender who will get better with playing time, and partnering him at the heart of the Gunners' defence could be Mustafi.

Emery is likely to partner Lucas Torreira and Joe Willock in central midfield, with Nicolas Pepe, Reiss Nelson and Mesut Ozil to play in a more attacking role behind Gabriel Martinelli.

Pepe struggled against Manchester United and is out of form at the moment, but against Liege, Emery could decide to give the 24-year-old winger another chance.

Predicted Arsenal XI: Martinez; Bellerin, Mustafi, Holding, Tierney; Torreira, Willock; Pepe, Ozil, Nelson; Martinelli
