Aston Villa lost against Tottenham Hotspur at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the weekend.

Jack Grealish has long been inked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, and on Saturday evening, the Aston Villa midfielder lined up against the North London outfit.

According to talkSPORT , Tottenham wanted to sign Grealish from Villa in the summer of 2018, and the 23-year-old midfielder himself recently said that he could have joined Mauricio Pochettino’s team.

However, the move never materialised, and Grealish stayed at Villa Park and helped the Villans clinch promotion from the Championship at the end of last season via the playoffs.

On Saturday evening, the 23-year-old lined up against Spurs in the Premier League game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Grealish, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, played well in the first half and was forced to drop deeper after the break.

Despite having been previously linked with Spurs, the 23-year-old was very spirited during the match, and did not shy away from arguments, as the following photo of him and Tottenham defender Davinson Sanchez - who has been on the books of the North London outfit since the summer of 2017 when he joined from Ajax for a transfer fee reported by The Telegraph to be worth £42 million - shows.
