Coronation Street's Kym Marsh, 42, is first-time grandma as daughter Emilie gives birth

Coronation Street star Kym Marsh has become a first-time grandma after her daughter Emilie Cunliffe gave birth.

The pop star-turned-actress joined Emilie in the delivery room to act as her birthing partner as she welcomed a baby boy.

The tot arrived last night and Kym shared the news on Instagram today along with a sweet picture of his hand.

She's not revealed his name yet but instead called him "Bazy Hoz".

The soap star wrote: "Last night was a night I will never forget. I became a 'Loli' for the first time!!!

"My beautiful daughter was an absolute warrior and her partner and I were the best birthing team we could be!! Kym shared a sweet picture of the little boy's hand (Image: Instagram)

"I was so honoured to have been a part of bringing him into the world.

"My beautiful grandson, I love you I will always love you and I promise to help guide you through life as best I can. Welcome to the world 'Baby Hoz' #name to follow."

Emilie previously told OK! magazine that Kym was looking forward to becoming a na.

She said: "Mum absolutely cannot wait. Bringing up a baby is hard enough, let alone for someone my age, so having my mum there to support me will be a godsend.’

Kym also revealed she is taking time off from Corrie to focus on her grandson.

She said: "Another big factor in my decision to take a break from Corrie is the impending arrival of my grandson.

"I’m looking forward to having more time to spend with him and Emilie after he’s born this summer."
