A QUICK LOOK AT SATURDAY"S WBBL SEMI-FINALS TO BE PLAYED AT BRISBANE'S ALLAN BORDER FIELD:

* Adelaide Strikers v Perth Scorchers from 10.10am (1110 AEDT)

Adelaide narrowly missed out on hosting the finals when they lost to the Sydney Sixers in their final round-robin match but won their past six before that defeat. They've lost Lauren Winfield to England duties but boast player-of-the-tournament Sophie Devine and can draw confidence from beating the Scorchers comfortably when the teams met in Brisbane earlier in the tournament. Perth will look to captain Meg Lanning to continue the form which delivered her a century in the last-start win over Hobart.

Key: Sophie Devine. The New Zealand all-rounder has scored 699 runs at 77.67 and taken 16 wickets in a sensational summer for the Strikers.

* Brisbane Heat v Melbourne Renegades from 1.50pm (1450 AEDT)

Defending champions Heat face a different scenario to last year's finals when they upset both Sydney teams on their way to a remarkable title win. Now they are the No.1-ranked team playing at home. Unaffected by player withdrawals, Brisbane will have a settled team and will hope home advantage gives them an added boost. Melbourne's first finals campaign last year ended in a heartbreaking super over semi-final defeat to the Sydney Sixers but they can draw confidence from having claimed a last-over win over the Heat in Brisbane earlier this summer. The loss of English internationals Danni Wyatt and Tammy Beaumont to national team duties hurts but Sri Lankan Chamari Atapattu will be better for having a week in Australia to prepare after her rushed debut last weekend.

Key: Jess Duffin. The Renegades skipper provides vital runs from the middle order and could also be handy in preventing economical Heat spinner Amelia Kerr from drying up the middle overs.
