Victory for 12/1 Fleetwood in Nedbank

EUROPEAN TOUR

Nedbank Golf Challenge

Final Leaderboard

1. (-12, 276) Tommy Fleetwood (Odds: 12/1)

2. (-12, 276) Marcus Kinhult (Odds: 60/1)

3. (-8, 280) Thomas Detry (Odds: 50/1)

3. (-8, 280) Jason Scrivener (Odds: 90/1)

3. (-8, 280) Bernd Wiesberger (Odds: 28/1)

Notes: In the end, Fleetwood edged out Kinhult in a playoff but no-one could have predicted that outcome earlier in the day. The Englishman started the final 18 six back but made three eagles in his closing 65 to secure a fifth European Tour win and jump to second in the Race to Dubai. Louis Oosthuizen looked to be on course for a home win but came home in 40 to drop to tied sixth.

Fate of the favorites

6. (-7, 281) Louis Oosthuizen (Odds: 11/1)

1. (-12, 276) Tommy Fleetwood (Odds: 12/1)

17. (-2, 286) Henrik Stenson (Odds: 14/1)

10. (-4, 284) Matthew Fitzpatrick (Odds: 16/1)

Notes: Fitzpatrick plugged away all week and joined Oosthuizen and Fleetwood in the top ten while Stenson was never really near the leaderboard although did manage to finish tied 17th.

EUROPEAN TOUR

DP World Tour Championship

Location: Jumeirah Golf Estates, Dubai, UAE. 7,677 yards, par 72.

Notes: So here we are then, the final event of the season with 12,000 Race to Dubai points up for grabs (that's more than WGCs). It was first played here in 2009 and this is the 11th edition. Bernd Wiesberger leads the standings but there are plenty still in it.

Who's playing? The top 50 on the Race to Dubai qualify. Current top 10: Bernd Wiesberger, Tommy Fleetwood, Jon Rahm, Shane Lowry, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Rory McIlroy, Matt Wallace , Tyrrell Hatton, Louis Oosthuizen, Erik van Rooyen.

Past winners of the DP World Tour Championship

2018 (-18, 270) Danny Willett - 6th European Tour win

2017 (-19, 269) Jon Rahm - 2nd European Tour win

2016 (-17, 271) Matthew Fitzpatrick - 3rd European Tour win

2015 (-21, 267) Rory McIlroy - 12th European Tour win

2014 (-16, 272) Henrik Stenson - 9th European Tour win

Notes: The cream always seems to rise to the top in this event and that continued when Masters champion Willett lifted the trophy last year. It's a long course but scoring is low.
