UAAP: Lady Eagles turns back Lady Tamaraws

Fancied Ateneo rallied from a two-set deficit to turn back Far Eastern University (FEU), 14-25, 19-25, 25-21, 25-18, 15-12, Sunday night in UAAP women’s volleyball at The Arena in San Juan City.

Kat Tolentino delivered the winning point for the Lady Eagles, who got their acts together for a second straight win in three outings.

Tolentino paced with 17 kills to finish with 19 points as Ateneo also relied on Maddie Madayag, who contributed 12 spikes for 14 points.

FEU came out smoking on the service line by walloping 12 aces but Ateneo was quick to adjust to hand the Lady Tamaraws their second consecutive loss in three matches.

Deanna Wong was also crucial for Ateneo’s assault with 26 excellent sets, while Jules Samonte and Ponggay Gaston covered the floor with combined 33 digs.

Heather Guino-o led FEU with 16 points.
