International Master Daniel Quizon blew a winning position and lost to fourth seed Indonesian IM Kaumandur Srihari Raghunandan in 73 moves of a Sicilian Defense Friday night that hurt his title chances after six rounds of the Asian Juniors Chess Championships in Solo, Indonesia.

The loss sent Dasmariñas, Cavite’s pride from a share of second to a five-player tie at fifth with four points, or 1.5 points behind solo leader, top seed IM Nguyen Anh Koi of Vietnam.

Quizon’s group included PH bets Jeth Romy Morado, who shocked sixth seed FIDE Master Nguyen Dang Hong Phuc of Vietnam, and IM John Marvin Miciano, who downed FM Constantus Leonardo Pratama of Indonesia.
