Marikina kept its poise despite Binangonan threatening to turn things around in the third quarter, pulling out a 100-91 victory in the CBA Pilipinas Founders Cup at the Aero Center in Quezon City on Saturday.
The Sapateros got off to a good start, taking a 28-21 lead after the first period. But the Slashers slowly came back and even took a 64-63 lead in the third quarter.
Marikina quickly got the lead back and eventually pulled away from there.

Eloie Tan and Chester Girado each made 21 points for the Sapateros.
JR Ng Sang added 12 points, 15 rebounds, one assist, two steals, and one block.
Ernest Oduca made 18 markers, three boards, four dimes, and five steals for the Slashers.
