Real Madrid will consider making a move for Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen during the January transfer window depending on two conditions.

That’s according to reports in Spain.

Eriksen is expected to leave Tottenham before the end of the summer transfer window next year.

The midfielder is out of contract next summer, and has shown no signs of wanting to extend his deal. Related articles Why Tottenham star Christian Eriksen wants Real Madrid move in summer

Eriksen has spent most of this season out of Tottenham’s team, instead Mauricio Pochettino has opted to bench him for games against Bayern Munich, Leicester City and Newcastle.

During the summer, Real Madrid had been interested in buying him, but opted against making a move due to his contract situation.

Now, Madrid are set to again consider making a move, dependant on two conditions.

According to AS, Madrid will only make a bid for the star in January if they have any significant injuries, or if the team is underperforming. Christian Eriksen has had limited game time this season (Image: GETTY)

Zinedine Zidane’s side are currently top of La Liga, two points ahead of Barcelona.

The two sides meet in El Clasico next weekend [October 26], with Madrid looking to extend their lead.

But if they don’t, and results start to go against them, it is reported that they will make a move for Eriksen.

AS claims Eriksen has been offered a new contract at Spurs and a pay-rise, but would still not be the highest-paid player at Spurs. Trending Tottenham are on a terrible run of form (Image: GETTY)

Madrid are also keen to sign Paul Pogba from Manchester United, and are reportedly confident of being able to sign him next summer due to their relationship with Mino Raiola strengthening, per Marca .

After they signed Alphonse Areola, the door was reportedly opened to them doing more business with the agent, who represents Pogba.

If they are able to get Pogba, it is unlikely they will make a move for Eriksen. Related articles
