Man Utd transfer news: Reds 'have to' make transfer decision to benefit Paul Pogba | Football

Manchester United have been told they need to sign a new attacker in the summer transfer window. PUBLISHED: 06:00, Fri, Jul 3, 2020 | UPDATED: 06:01, Fri, Jul 3, 2020 0

Manchester United need to sign another striker or attacking player this summer, because bringing in a second striker would allow Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to change formation and unleash Paul Pogba even more. That's the opinion of ESPN pundit Gab Marcotti, who thinks a diamond formation would fit the superstar forward more. United have been on fire since the league's restart, carrying their good form from before the break with them into their recent games.

Since play resumed, they have won four out of four games, propelling themselves towards the top four in the Premier League.

For many fans, that impressive form has been largely as a result of Pogba and Bruno Fernandes playing together for the first time.

The French midfielder returned to the first-team picture after injuries kept him out of the team through the majority of the season.

He has formed an instant partnership with Fernandes, who has been the team's best player since his £46.6million arrival from Sporting Lisbon.

But Marcotti believes Pogba can improve his return next season depending on this summer's transfer activity.

The Red Devils have been tipped to sign a new winger this summer, with Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish both targeted.

They are still yet to permanently replace Romelu Lukaku, having sold the centre-forward to Inter Milan last summer. LATEST LIVE SPORT TV DEALS
