Jose Mourinho wants to make the Real Betis man his first signing as Spurs boss, according to Marca .

Lo Celso has been at the club since deadline day back in August, but has failed to make his mark in England.

The midfield playmaker has started just two Premier League games this season, having been brought on nine times.

During those appearances, he has shown flashes of brilliance and has impressed fans, but his minutes have still been limited.

His deal at the New Tottenham Stadium will run out in the summer, but the Premier League side holds the keys to his future, and have the option to either sign him permanently in January or the summer.

Lo Celso is viewed by many as the ideal replacement for Christian Eriksen, who is close to leaving the club.

The Dane is wanted by a host of teams throughout Europe, and is set to leave for Inter Milan this month in a £20m move.

Eriksen is available on a free transfer at the end of the season, but Spurs are reportedly willing to let him go in January in a cut-price deal.
