That’s the update from Wales manager Ryan Giggs.

The winger collided with Domagoj Vida on the halfway line, as the defender went for a high ball.

The collision left James flat out on the floor with his eyes closed, as it appeared he had been briefly knocked out.

However, just moments later play was resumed and James was allowed to continue, much to the surprise of fans in attendance.

Speaking afterwards, Giggs confirmed the winger was recovering well, and claimed medical staff had tended to him during the interval. Daniel James collided with a Croatia defender during the game (Image: GETTY)

"Dan James went down and stayed down. A bit of acting really,” he said.

“The medical staff went over. He was compos mentis.

“We did tests at half-time and he passed them. He's fine.”

"Ethan Ampadu is fine,” he continued.

"Gareth Bale got a bit of cramp. He didn't want to come off. It was a fantastic performance.

“It was a shame he got that for the last 10 minutes, so we were down one player really."
