Mount caused controversy over the weekend as he was spotted in a London park with West Ham's Declan Rice.

The young pair were having a kickabout with a group of other youngsters, at a time when Chelsea's first-team squad was supposed to be on lockdown.

After Callum Hudson-Odoi confirmed he had contracted coronavirus, the entire Blues squad was placed into self-isolation, a move which postponed their Premier League clash against Aston Villa.

But Mount chose to ignore those instructions, and headed down to the park to play football with his mates instead.

Chelsea officials were believed to be incensed by his decision, and gave him a stern dressing-down on Monday.

Afterwards, the youngster - who has enjoyed a terrific season so far - reportedly rang Lampard and apologised.

Mount has had a brilliant campaign for the Blues, having emerged as one of Chelsea's key players.

The 21-year-old has scored six goals and provided four assists in the Premier League in what is his first full season in the top-flight.
