Need to restart economy but with caution: Yogi Adityanath at E-Agenda AajTak - India

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said there is a need to restart the economy but all precautions must be taken to ensure that Covid-19 is not spread further.

"We need to also focus on how we can restart the economy in some manner. Nearly 45-46 crore workers have been affected by the lockdown. Though they are benefiting from the government economic packages but we need to work so that they can go back to work," Yogi Adityanath said.

Yogi Adityanath was speaking at a special session during the 'e-Agenda Aaj Tak CM Special' on Saturday.

"The entire country has to come together to fight against this pandemic. We are fortunate the country is led by PM Narendra Modi and it is due to his leadership that 135 crore people feel safe today. Despite the high population, our death rate is low in comparison to the US and European nation," he said.

Asked about how the Uttar Pradesh government will approach each of the zones (red, orange and green), CM Yogi said, "In red Zone, we won't start any activity that may increase the spread of coronavirus. We need to break the chain. In Orange and Green Zones we are going to start some activities."
