Judge blocks Trump administration birth-control coverage rules in 13 states

Given the portion of the insured taking this benefit (it's only fair to count the pair, not women separately - men, share the cost with your lady!), it is almost a pass-through for the insurance (i.e. if everyone wants it, everyone pays for it in the premiums anyway). But you know the efficiency of the insurance pass-throughs, 90% of the premiums get lost along the way on overhead and lazy price negotiation. That's why covered prescription contraceptives are accounted at close to $200 a month in CA, while over-the-counter, you-pay-full-price-yourself contraceptives go for $10 in Europe. When a law mandates insurance companies have to cover something so widely claimed, they raise the premiums. Since all of them have to, they won't even pretend to compete on transactional efficiency. Drop it from all the plans and we'd all save big money on premiums. Ladies not having to pay $100 more a month on premiums, then having a reasonable choice of products for much less than $100 a month? Men not paying those $100 either so they can happily support their ladies and throw in some roses too!
