After Monday Night Raw shrugged off WWE Crown Jewel and got on with building to Survivor Series 2018, it was the turn of SmackDown Live to do the same. And while over on Raw they still haven't quite got things together for the annual head-to-head, here on the Blue Brand we ended the night with both the men and women's teams totally stacked (and the tag teams getting filled out too). Read on for four things we learned as WWETV finished its twice-yearly trip to the UK. 1. SmackDown Live wastes no time in filling out its men's and women's Survivor Series 2018 teams, despite its captain issues Over on Monday Night Raw they took the whole episode to confirm that it'd be Baron Corbin captaining the team, rather than Kurt Angle. And by the time our three hours were up, we only actually had three male competitors confirmed (Braun Strowman, Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler), and NO women (despite Alexa Bliss being named captain). Here on the Blue Brand things moved a little quicker. Daniel Bryan AND The Miz were swiftly confirmed as joint captains for the male team. They're both fighting captains, both agreed to put WWE World Cup winner Shane-O-Mac on the team, and then saw Rey Mysterio beat Andrade 'Cien' Almas and Samoa Joe beat Jeff Hardy for Rey and Joe to fill out the squad. Meanwhile, despite hesitating over the captaincy last week, Charlotte Flair was picked by Paige for the women's Survivor Series team. She was joined by Carmella, Naomi, Asuka and Sonya Deville. The only problem is that after her comprehensive loss to Becky Lynch, Charlotte just didn't show for work. That led to Mandy Rose, excluded from the team despite the presence of her buddy Sonya Deville, to come out and run everyone down and demand a spot. For now though, Paige is sticking with her original five. 2. NIKKI CROSS IS HERE ON SMACKDOWN LIVE At. Last. For a long while SAnitY's (and SmackDown's) loss was NXT's gain, as Nikki Cross stayed on Wednesday nights despite her stable's "promotion" to the main roster. Last night she finally arrived, and with SAnitY in tow to challenge The Man. Yep, Nikki Cross decided that her debut was as good a time as any to take on the Champ Becky Lynch. In some ways it was a barmy plan. She eventually lost the match to a Dis-Arm-Her, but in bravely aiming for the king from the very beginning, Nikki Cross has made an impression. Let's hope that debut defeat doesn't dampen any of her spirit, and here's to Nikki Cross not only doing it for herself on the main roster, but also taking all of SAnitY to the top where they belong. 3. It's The Bar vs AOP in another Champion vs Champion match at Survivor Series 2019 Well this should be an excellent barney. Over on Raw, AOP finally got that Tag Team Championship they've been threatening ever since they got Drake Maverick in their corner. Here on SmackDown Live, The Bar picked up the belts at SmackDown 1000 and have looked pretty comfortable since. On a night of Champion(s) vs Champion(s) it was inevitably that this one would be added to the card. It's only bragging rights up for grabs, but we're intrigued to see if AOP can keep their momentum against one of the most technically accomplished tag teams in the WWE. 4. There'll be a 5x5 Tag Team Survivor Series match, too Not the biggest surprise, but good to have it confirmed all the same. The New Day and The Usos put on another classic match (do they have any others?) to find out who would be captain come Survivors Series. The Usos picked up the win and as a mark of respect immediately picked their rivals as fellow teammates. To be honest, there aren't quite enough teams on either brand for there to be oodles of mystery about who'll be picked. With The Bar already engaged with AOP, the only teams left are The Usos + The New Day + The Bludgeon Brothers + SAnitY + The Bludgeon Brothers + The Good Brothers + The Colóns. We'll stick our next out and say Gallows/Anderson and Primo/Epico are the most likely to miss out, but it'd be nice to see all four of those doing a bit more either way.
