WHEN IS FORTNITE SEASON 3 STARTING?

Epic Games has confirmed that Fortnite Season 3 will begin on Wednesday, June 17, 2020.

This includes across all platforms, meaning PS4, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Mobile and PC gamers will all get the same update.

Epic Games has yet to announce exactly what time things will kick off but we do know that some Fortnite downtime is likely.

Seasonal turnovers usually include some lengthy maintenance, meaning the game will not be playable for several hours.

This usually begins in the early morning, with the new Fortnite update available to download by early afternoon in the UK.

Epic Games could always choose to change things up, so fans should keep an eye out for the latest information.

Fortnite Season 3 has been delayed several times, with Epic Games confirming at the time:

“Recent events are a heavy reminder of ongoing injustices in society, from the denial of basic human rights to the impact of racism both overt and subtle against people of color. We're acutely aware of the pain our friends, families, team members, players, and communities are experiencing.

“We believe in equality and justice, diversity and inclusion, and that these fundamentals are above politics.

“The team is eager to move Fortnite forward, but we need to balance the Season 3 launch with time for the team to focus on themselves, their families, and their communities.

“The live event The Device will be delayed to Monday, June 15, and the Season 3 launch delayed to Wednesday, June 17. We know this delay comes on the heels of another one, and we appreciate your patience and understanding during these difficult times.”

WHAT WILL BE THE FORTNITE SEASON 3 BATTLE PASS THEME?

According to the latest reports, new teasers have started to be sent out by Epic Games.

This includes a Trident, which suggests that the Fortnite Season 3 Battle Pass will be water-themed.

That shouldn’t prove so surprising as we already have large amounts of water flooding the map this week.

A third teaser image has not been deciphered yet but those guessing it might be the moon have been told otherwise by a message from an Epic-linked Reddit account.

The message reads: “While space may seem like a great escape to avoid getting drenched, No Sweat reminds you that it lies outside of our coverage area. Stick with us on the Island.

“Yes, there’s a towering wall of water there, and yes, you probably want to know if we cover water damage and boat rentals, and yes, we thank you for your interest in No Sweat.”

Other guesses include the zoomed-in bumpy image being that of Marine Mines, which would certainly fit in with the nautical theme.

And with the first teasers going live, there’s a good chance we will get a few more today, June 16.
