The Russo Brothers Are Making a Marvel v DC Film

Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo are preparing to produce a new docu-series exploring the rivalry between Marvel and DC.

Titled Slugfest , the new series will "track the rise of two groundbreaking creative companies", which eventually went on to become the comics powerhouses we know today.

The films will depict “a race to the top fuelled by competitive intuition and creative ingenuity, what resulted was an indomitably American industry, rising from its scrappy, disregarded roots to establish culture-changing mythologies."

Directed by Don Argott and Sheena M Joyce, Slugfest is inspired by the book Slugfest: Inside the Epic, 50-year Battle between Marvel and DC and will feature behind-the-scenes stories, including one about the first official Marvel and DC crossover comic from the Seventies, which starred Superman and Spider-Man.

The Russos, who have directed some of Marvel's most successful titles in recent years – Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War – are ostensibly finished with the studio, but they recently admitted they could be enticed back to make the next X-Men or Fantastic Four movie. At least this new series means you don't have to wait for Marvel x Russo action.
