Mar 30 | Annual JLOSH Kids For Kids: A Children’s Volunteer Event

By JLOSH Community groups are joining forces, for its seventh year, in Millburn this March for a children’s volunteering event to help youngsters in need.

‘Kids For Kids,’ organized by the Junior League of the Oranges and Short Hills, Inc. (JLOSH), brings together local groups and children for a morning of hands-on volunteering and fun at the George Bauer Community Center in Taylor Park, Millburn, on Saturday, March 30.

Contributing community groups include Girl Scouts of America, Interfaith Hospitality Network of Essex County, Family Assistance Resource Center (FARC), Caring Kids Millburn, and MEND.

The activities children aged six to twelve years will be able to take part in include:

- Filling bags with toiletries & essentials

- Decorating birthday cards for kids in foster care

- Create no-sew blankets to give to children at Saint Barnabas Medical Center/RWJBarnabas Health

- Participate in creating a “passport” based on completion of each volunteer activity

- Have fun at our JLOSH photo booth while promoting volunteerism

In addition, children will have the opportunity to donate non-perishable goods, such as peanut butter or canned protein meals. The Kids For Kids event is best for children aged six to twelve years accompanied by an adult.

The JLOSH ‘Kids For Kids’ event goes a long way to helping children in need, while teaching kids and adults about the benefits of volunteering, and bringing together a host of community organizations.

‘Kids For Kids’ takes place from 10:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, at the George Bauer Community Center in Taylor Park, 100 Main Street, Millburn, NJ.
