NBA rookie survey: Kings' Kyle Guy voted second-best shooter in draft class

Kings coach Luke Walton will want to run the floor and shoot from deep in his first season at the helm in Sacramento. And he might have the perfect rookie to launch shots from beyond the arc.

Kyle Guy can let it fly from long distance. His fellow rookies took notice, too.

In the annual rookie survey , Guy received the second-most votes for best shooter in the 2019 NBA Draft class. Guy took home 29 percent of votes, placing him just behind Heat rookie Tyler Herro , who received 33 percent.

Guy also received a vote for Rookie of the Year.

The 22-year-old Guy made 42.5 percent of his 3-pointers in his college career for the University of Virginia and had a 43.3 overall shooting percentage.

"I wanted to be like Kobe in the sense that it didn't matter if my feet were set or just jumping as far as I could to either side," Guy said after the Kings drafted him. "I just wanted to be able to make shots no matter what."

The Kings signed Guy to a two-way contract in July. Soon, he'll be able to show off his Mamba Mentality.
