Girls Basketball Notes: Sarah Martin Trains Horses, Turns Into Scoring

‘The girls are playing with a lot of confidence right now, trusting each other, moving the ball well and playing good as a team.

This information was provided. Another one.

‘I still love it when I can do it,’ Martin said. ‘It’s relaxing and fun. I just don’t do it as much anymore because of basketball.’

Martin, a senior guard/forward who can play all five positions, said she used to ride three times a week in the summer and show the horse three times a year.

Martin enjoyed the barrel racing, a rodeo event where the horse and rider complete a cloverleaf pattern around preset barrels against the clock.

That shouldn’t come as a surprise since Martin loves competing on the court. She even spent time on New Year’s Eve working on her shooting at teammate Aubrey Toppen’s barn.
