Although the outcome was just briefly in doubt Tuesday night, it was the manner in which Friendswood’s 60-24 victory evolved over Texas City that brought satisfaction to Lady Mustang head coach Daron Scott.
‘After a tough loss at home Friday against a really good Goose Creek (Memorial) team, I wanted to see what our response was,’ Scott said. ‘The girls did an outstanding job, establishing our defense from the get-go.
Friendswood (18-7, 9-1) clinched a playoff berth with the triumph and maintained a one-game lead over the Lady Patriots with four games left on the District 22-5A schedule.

A quick look at each of runners who will start the Badwater 135 on July 23 Almost 100 runners will test their endurance, heat-resistance and ability to tame 14,600 feet of cumulative vertical ascent and 6,100 feet of cumulative descent when the 2018 edition of the Badwater 135 kicks off Monday evening (July 23).
The first wave of runners will start at 8 p.m., followed by another wave at 9:30 p.m., and the final group at 11 p.m.
The race will feature five previous champions: Pete Kostlenick, Harvey Lewis, Oswaldo L’pez, Zach Gingerich and Marshall Ulrich.
