Telstra appeal over Optus ads rejected

Telstra has lost its attempt to appeal a ruling over adverts published by rival network Optus.

Victoria's Supreme Court rejected in May Telstra's claims that the advertisements were misleading and deceptive because of the use of the phrase: "Empires end. That's what they do".

The telco sought leave to appeal the ruling, but the Court of Appeal refused the application on Tuesday, adding in its judgment "none of the proposed grounds has any real prospect of success".
