Scott Morrison has angrily condemned a planned student strike to protest government inaction on climate change.

The prime minister wants students to stay in class rather than protesting things that "can be dealt with outside of school".

"We do not support our schools being turned into parliaments. What we want is more learning in schools and less activism in schools," Mr Morrison told parliament on Monday.
