Former Qld council official runs for KAP

A former Queensland council official who wants to see more federal government funding for remote Indigenous housing will take second place on the senate ticket for Katter's Australian Party.

The minority party's leader Bob Katter on Tuesday announced his "very famous" old friend Greg Wallace would stand after previously working in local government in the state's top end.

Mr Wallace said Indigenous communities in the state were going backwards after a decline in local jobs and a cut to federal government funding for housing.
