Drug trafficking ex-lawyer faces Qld jail

A former criminal lawyer is facing prison time after pleading guilty to a slew of offences including trafficking "significant quantities" of methamphetamine.

Briana Ioannides, 30, faced the Brisbane Supreme Court on Tuesday where she will be sentenced for trafficking offences along with 21 other offences.

The court was told the former Gold Coast-based lawyer sold the drugs wholesale and at a street level.

Her lawyer argues she should be sentenced to no longer than eight years in prison.

The hearing continues.
