Genghis Khan "colonized" most of Eastern Europe, if colonization by Khan is thought of in terms of murder, rape and pillaging. Islam absolutely colonized Northern Africa, eastern Europe and the Iberian peninsula through warfare, murdering hundreds of thousands, destroying centuries old buildings and taking vast numbers of slaves. Russia and Germany traded off colonizing Poland for centuries. The Aztecs conquered surrounding peoples (the Mayans generally fought amongst themselves). The Japanese planned to become the Pacific's new colonial power under the Newspeak term of "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere." The Soviet Union took advantage of post-World War II to colonize all of Eastern Europe. This is to say nothing of the Romans, the Babylonians, the Persians. I admit I am not aware of any colonization by African tribes/nations, just tribal warfare (same with Native American tribes). The sad truth is that our universal history has been one of warfare, colonization, and subjugation.
