BTW, "more qualified" and "less qualified" is your construction. University undergraduate admissions don't really view it like that. How do you compare a 30 point SAT difference against an 0.4 GPA difference? Universities have given up on that and instead think more in binary terms --- "unqualified" ( below the minimum standards) and "qualified" (above minimums).
