(Photo by Sami Mohammed / A/ Getty) May 14, 2019 at 3:28 am The head of the Sudanese National Umma Party (NUP), Sadiq Al-Mahdi, has met with the ambassadors of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the capital of Khartoum for talks, Saudi Arabia’s Okaz reported yesterday.

The Saudi daily said that the visit was “to congratulate Al-Mahdi on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.”

A photo of Al-Mahdi, along with his daughter and NUP deputy head, Mariam Al-Mahdi, welcoming the Saudi ambassador to Sudan, Ali Bin Hassan Jafar, and his Emirati counterpart, Hamad Al-Junaibi, in the Sudanese opposition leader’s house in Khartoum went viral by activists across social media networks.
