A cynical theory with no basis in fact considering that Palestinian workers are paid the same rates as their Israeli counterparts. One could easily argue against the proposals by asserting that Palestinians would use the income to finance even more jihadist terror. Considering the explosive nature of Palestinian society there are other far less risky ventures one could involve oneself with.

Or you might consider that the plan from the start was to show the world that the Palestinian leadership not only has no interest in peace but no interest in the well being of the Palestinian people. If recent polls showing the distrust Palestinians have of their "elected" officials are to be believed, that message is loud and clear.
